Uber Geek

My friends at nursing school have found out this semester that I am a closet AV Geek. And I am proud to admit it. It makes me happy to make things work and for that stupid powerpoint to show up on the big screen.

I got my new laptop last night. It arrived while I was on a "date" with Sara. We went to see Dirty Dancing....by far the best movie ever btw. It was great to hear people cheering to the words "Nobody puts baby in a corner." And I hate to admit it but I teared up a little during the last dance. Stupid girliness. So anyway back to the laptop.

I pretty much could not get into the box fast enough. I took it upstairs and plugged it in. And nothing....... Pretty black screen. So not happy. So I put it away and waited until this morning to call Dell. Now from what I have heard from previous Dell clients, its like pulling teeth to understand some of the tech support people that yes....live in India. My experience however was quite the opposite. Ramin was awesome. Spoke amazing English and I could understand everything he said. He walked me through a few things first, nothing worked. So he had me take apart my computer (enter AV Geek). After loosening a few screws, the keyboard popped off and I pulled something out and replugged it in. And after putting all the screws back in....it works. Houston we have a visual. So I wicked excited. After months of trying to figure out how to pay for a laptop, etc. I finally have it. And my opening picture....a goldfish. :-) Apparently goldfishes, new laptops, people who speak English and oh yeah the fact that I have one final left in about 2.5 hours then I will be done with this semester, these are a few of my favorite things.
