The Land of Spare 'Oom!

Making a ton of progress in the soon to be spare room/craft room. Throwing out or donating a ton of stuff that I just don't use anymore. I mean why on earth do I need to keep my textbooks from my first shot at college. I have come to several conclusions while cleaning:

1. I have entirely too much crap!!!
2. My mom was horrible at filing and NEVER throwing out anything.
3. I hate cleaning. But its a very cathartic feeling.

Plus the other option for spending my time is studying. I have three finals next week. One of which I need to kick some serious butt on to get a decent grade. Plus the grade in that class counts for two grades, Patho and Pharm. Ugh. Not too worried about the other finals. One of them is stuff I know inside and out, upside down and backwards. The other, I just need to read through the powerpoints and I should be ok.

Knit Buddy

My nursing school friend Sara made this little guy for me. Thanks!!! His name is Samuel Ferguson. I love the fact that my nursing school friends have the same affinity for naming inanimate objects and the same level of knitting distraction that I experience.

Also went to a new knitting shop in Holden today. All sorts of good sock yarn. Wish I had millions to spend and tons of time. Then Qdoba for lunch. Yummy. Great way to spend the afternoon, cause oh yeah....We are done with classes for the semester. Have three finals next week. Then a glorious 19 days of no school. 11 of which will be in Canadia. And I have a feeling my body will completely shut down because I am no longer able to process a lack of stress. Lets hope not though. I want to enjoy Canadia, eh!

Frustrated

With people in general. Things I cannot change and people that don't seem to give a rats ass about my personal space. Especially the tenants who don't understand the statement "Don't touch my roses." I worked my ass off to get those roses cleaned up and the weeds dead around them. My mom loved those roses and I needed to have something that would continuously remind me of her. So what if the rock garden is "stupid" looking. I put the rocks there as a reminded of how damn hard I had to work to revive the roses and they just toss them out...well buried them. STAY AWAY FROM MY ROSES, unless its to enjoy their beauty or soak in the aromas. And whatever you do, don't cut them. Thats my job. Thats when I usually talk to mom, so back off. Maybe I should build a brick wall around them, but then that would defeat the purpose of my daily enjoyment. There is nothing I enjoy more in the summer as coming up the driveway and pausing for a few minutes to count the dozens of blooms and think briefly of the love hidden within their petals.

As promised....

Socks on my feet and on the table. I am so proud, they are both the same size. Warm and fuzzy just in time for summer.

And the baby set I finished last weekend instead of studying. Just need to add ribbon. If anyone needs a baby present let me know and you can pick your own ribbon.

I started Sara's socks...more pictures when I get further on them.

A little over two weeks

And the semester will be over. Thank goodness. I have never been so physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted in my entire life. But hopefully this is all worth it. Supposedly this summer is going to be worse, but those are just rumors.

I spent all weekend knitting. Its my newest thing and I am getting pretty darn good at it. Finished the baby sweater I was working on and then the bonnet that goes with it and this morning I managed to finish one bootie. These are for no one in particular, I just have a bunch of friends at the "lets start having kids" phase of their lives so I figured I would get a jump start. Once I figure things out I will post pictures of the progress. I would like nothing better than to be able to sit and knit or quilt all day every day but that will never happen.

Anyway back to the books. Have one last Patho exam tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

Forgot

I forgot I even had this place. I deleted all the old stuff and I am starting new. Time to get some thoughts out of my head and clear space for my nursing info.

Three weeks left of the semester and a ton of work. So naturally I am sitting here watching the Red Sox home opener. Typical Maureen. Procrastination is my strong suit.

I should at least attempt to write one of the three papers I have due in the next week and a half.
