Works in Progress

Been trying to finish up some of my knitting projects before I start new ones. Sara's socks are done. The baby sweater is done, just have to tie in all the ends. And I gave up on finishing the shawl I started forever ago. I dropped a stitch or two and I can't figure out where.

I started my fingerless gloves last night and its my first foray into the world of cabling....so far so good. I will post pictures once I do all the finishing work on the sweater and socks.

On the school front. Our clinical instructor got "let go", so the 6 of us in our group got reassigned to other groups, all evening shift. Its amazing how the right instructor and right group can make your day 100 times less stressful. So other than having to adjust to evenings, I think I will be much happier.

Back to knitting....gotta love days off.

Clinicals

I am all bitched out about the crappy week I had last week. Our class started clinicals last week and it sucked. I thought I would really like it too. But things seem to be getting better this week. I gave my first shot.....I am sorry ...injection today. Really didn't hurt that much at all. Hahah.

A month from now I will be at the farm with the boys. Doing projects and rebuilds in the shop, which means getting dirty. Woo hoo. And spending a wonderful week and a half in Canadia away from school books and spending time on my own. Need to check out the city, figure out some of the neighborhoods, find the best knitting stores and coffee shops, and generally lay the foundation for moving up there next year.

So I think some of my anxiety and frustrations have gone away, but its always going to be emotionally draining taking care of another human being. Bring it on!!

The Land of Spare 'Oom!

Making a ton of progress in the soon to be spare room/craft room. Throwing out or donating a ton of stuff that I just don't use anymore. I mean why on earth do I need to keep my textbooks from my first shot at college. I have come to several conclusions while cleaning:

1. I have entirely too much crap!!!
2. My mom was horrible at filing and NEVER throwing out anything.
3. I hate cleaning. But its a very cathartic feeling.

Plus the other option for spending my time is studying. I have three finals next week. One of which I need to kick some serious butt on to get a decent grade. Plus the grade in that class counts for two grades, Patho and Pharm. Ugh. Not too worried about the other finals. One of them is stuff I know inside and out, upside down and backwards. The other, I just need to read through the powerpoints and I should be ok.

Knit Buddy

My nursing school friend Sara made this little guy for me. Thanks!!! His name is Samuel Ferguson. I love the fact that my nursing school friends have the same affinity for naming inanimate objects and the same level of knitting distraction that I experience.

Also went to a new knitting shop in Holden today. All sorts of good sock yarn. Wish I had millions to spend and tons of time. Then Qdoba for lunch. Yummy. Great way to spend the afternoon, cause oh yeah....We are done with classes for the semester. Have three finals next week. Then a glorious 19 days of no school. 11 of which will be in Canadia. And I have a feeling my body will completely shut down because I am no longer able to process a lack of stress. Lets hope not though. I want to enjoy Canadia, eh!

A little over two weeks

And the semester will be over. Thank goodness. I have never been so physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted in my entire life. But hopefully this is all worth it. Supposedly this summer is going to be worse, but those are just rumors.

I spent all weekend knitting. Its my newest thing and I am getting pretty darn good at it. Finished the baby sweater I was working on and then the bonnet that goes with it and this morning I managed to finish one bootie. These are for no one in particular, I just have a bunch of friends at the "lets start having kids" phase of their lives so I figured I would get a jump start. Once I figure things out I will post pictures of the progress. I would like nothing better than to be able to sit and knit or quilt all day every day but that will never happen.

Anyway back to the books. Have one last Patho exam tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
